Greetings to all of you! I am very much looking forward to our interim
time of ministry together. I am also grateful for the introductory
information I have already received from the Church Council and look
forward to getting to know all of you.
I thought it might be helpful for you to know a little bit
about me, so I’ll take some time in this first newsletter to share!
I have been an ordained pastor for 29 years, serving churches
in Kansas, Illinois, and now Steven’s Point! I spent the last two years
as an Associate Chaplain with Ministry Health - Howard Young Hospital –
in Minocqua. My roots are in the United Church of Christ – I was
Evangelical and Reformed for five years of my life, but don’t remember
much of that!
I have been married to Richard for 10 years – our lives came
together after some transitions in our respective lives. Together we
have 5 daughters between the ages of 26 and 31, plus three
granddaughters, ages 1, 6, and 11. Plus one dog, yes a girl!, age 3.
You’ll no doubt meet her at some point - she’s very welcoming! We moved
to Wisconsin 2 and a half years ago. We enjoy the outdoor life of the
Northwood’s and the open country of the area east of Green Bay.
One of the activities that has consumed a bit of our time
over the past five years is the renovation of an old school house
between Kewaunee and Algoma, Wisconsin. Once we decided this would be
our retirement home someday we set to it! We’ve learned a lot about its
history, gotten mail that included old pictures and report cards from
people, and met one of the students from the first kindergarten class of
1917! It has been fun.
I am very much looking forward to spending part of the week
in Steven’s Point. I will be local Saturday P.M. to Wednesday P.M. When
special events come up that are on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday I will
stay in town. We are working on a local number you can use to reach me
at any time. Please feel free to drop by or call as we get to know one
another!
Preparing for a new pastor is an exciting time. We will be
working together to be ready! Please watch and listen for opportunities
to share you thoughts, opinions and ideas!
